Music at St Peter’s Church, Binton

I wanted to do my bit for our beautiful village here in the Warwickshire countryside, so on 20th September we’re getting together for a very special one-off evening of music at St Peter’s Church, Binton, blending local talent with some acclaimed British musicians.

Since moving to the village in September 2024, we’ve made some wonderful friends. It also turns out that one of our neighbours is Sarah Bishop, who some of you may remember as Sarah Falkland from the BBC’s Midlands Today and The Politics Show. What I didn’t know when we first met was that Sarah also has a rather fantastic singing voice! So we thought, why not put a band together and make an evening of it?

Sarah and I will be joined by my friends Andy Shillingford on tenor saxophone, Bernard Porter on guitar, Arran Shanghavi on piano and Tom Hill on bass. Originally from Los Angeles, Tom is also a highly successful voiceover artist and you may just recognise his voice as Tony the Tiger from the Frosties advertising campaign!

Together, we’ll be playing an evening of easy listening and light jazz.

Most importantly, the evening is being held in support of our wonderful village church, with proceeds in aid of St Peter’s Church, Binton.
