This is a track that I used to play regularly at drum events in the 1990’s. This was originally written by the great keyboard player, composer and producer Chris Taylor and was latterly recreated by the equally great keyboard player, composer and producer Steve Hamilton. This was recreated to in every way reproduce that feeling of my formative years as a drummer in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. This track features:

Here is video created by Yamaha Drums to celebrate the re release of one of the world’s most iconic drum sets, the Yamaha Recording Custom. This was recorded at Metropolis Studios, London, UK
This is footage from a promotional video that I created along with Yamaha Drums, for the Yamaha EAD10. Here I am playing drums over the piece So What, as originally performed by the late great Miles Davis with the late great Jimmy Cobb on drums. EAD stands Electro Acoustic Drum module. It is a groundbreaking device that utilises a single microphone mounted on the bass drums batter side hoop, and a module used to create a variety of drum sounds quickly and easily, with some great facilities for performing along with backing tracks utilising the Yamaha Rec 'n' Share app.
This was a particular special moment for me. An opportunity to play drums alongside probably the most influential drummer of modern times, Steve Gadd. This was from a concert celebrating the life, music & drumming of the one and only Buddy Rich in a concert that I called ‘The World’s Greatest Drummer’. This concert also featured two close friends and renowned drummers, Steve White and Pete Cater.

During the COVID pandemic many of us had fun recording to backing tracks. This is one that I recorded along with my friend Laurence Cottle’s big band. I had been studying over this period with the great David Garibaldi online via Zoom during this period and so this was my chance to NOT copy David, but to honour his massive influence in us all by recording drums on this track.
